Today will look vastly different for every single person:
💍 someone is getting married
📃 someone is getting divorced
💰 someone got a promotion
😶 someone got fired
🩸 someone is happy they got their period
💔 someone is heartbroken they got their period
🏠 someone just bought their first house
🚪 someone just lost their house
You never know.
Hold space for the human experience and to the people who cross your path.
Remember that at this very moment:
😭 someone is receiving the worst news of their life
🤬 someone is experiencing cruelty
😞 someone is navigating debilitating depression for the very first time
🥺 someone is scared and alone
It can be painful to think about, but that's the stuff of empathy.
Hold space for the human experience and to the people who cross your path.
So keep this in mind when:
🏎️ someone cuts you off in traffic
😓 someone doesn't smile back
⏰ someone walks in late to your class
🗓️ someone cancels plans
🗯️ someone speaks to you sharply
Hold space for the human experience and to the people who cross your path.

You know what's become a really common occurrence?
People body-checking my pregnant belly.
🙄
My family and friends know what my body looks like, and none of them have made comments regarding my body size in years (except my incredible sister in law who asked, "Is that a little baby bump I'm seeing?!" the other day, which was adorable).
Right after the holidays, I started telling other people that I am pregnant.
Think: strangers, cashiers, etc. I'm a talkative person, mmmkay?
I'd say about 60% of the time people just respond with how excited they are for me. This has been a lovely and welcome reaction, especially after all the outspoken body comments I received 6 years ago when I was pregnant with the twins.
But what about the other 40% ?
Here's how it goes down... I'm remembering a specific incident from 4 weeks ago, but they're all more or less the same.
Them: "How exciting!! How far along are you?"
Me: "I'm 14 weeks, due in July!"
Them: *Body scan, double take at my belly, eyes get big* "Ooooh, you're sooo early... [awkward short pause]... Um, how have you been feeling?"
I respond politely.
I try to ignore it.
I chuckle and move on.
But you know what?
It bugs me.
It really bugs me.
My body stores most of my fat in my stomach. It's been this way since 2014. Over the years I've had sooooooo many people ask, "When are you due?" I wasn't pregnant when they asked.
I responded politely.
I tried to ignore it.
I chuckled and moved on.
But you know what?
It really bugged me.
Before I got pregnant for the first time 6 years ago, I was very thin. I'd always been naturally thin. So when I gained a significant amount of weight, it was incredibly obvious. People would always comment on how HUUUUUGE I was getting.
I responded politely.
I tried to ignore it.
I chuckled and moved on.
But you know what?
IT ALWAYS FREAKING BUGGED ME.
People, people, people!
STOP COMMENTING ON OTHER PEOPLE'S BODIES.
Yes, that includes body scans and double takes.
Thank you for coming to my
