🪺 **THE STORY OF THE LEARNING NEST** 🪺
Our story is important to us, so every so often we want to share it…especially for our new families and followers who may not know how The Learning Nest came to be.
We were a group of teachers who had worked together for many, many years at a preschool in Terrace Park. After 65 years, the church unexpectedly decided to close the preschool. The announcement came in February, when most preschools were already full for the following school year.
Suddenly, nearly **100 families were without a preschool** and almost **20 teachers were without jobs.**
Kelly Braun and Angela Jolley, with the guidance of Emily Keiser and support of all the staff, decided to take action. Our families told us, **“If you build something, we will follow.”** And they did. ❤️
In just six short months, we created The Learning Nest…finding a space, navigating licensing, creating policies and procedures, and getting everything ready to open our doors.
The Village Church in Newtown welcomed us for our first year, but we quickly outgrew the space. We needed a larger, more permanent home, so we moved to Milford and our families followed us once again.
Now, as we prepare for our **third year at TLN**, we have a staff of 24. Many of us have been friends and coworkers for years, and we love that we can continue to build TLN together.
We also believe in **hiring within our community**—former TLN families, teachers’ daughters, cousins, neighbors and friends. And we are proudly **100% owned and operated by women.** ❤️
From the minute you walk through our doors, you can feel it…**The Learning Nest is special.**
Our spots fill almost immediately, and we truly believe that’s because of our incredible staff and families. To those who believed in us from the beginning, followed us, trusted us and helped build this community: **thank you.**
And to our new families…we can’t wait to welcome you!
As we begin another school year, we are so grateful for how far we’ve come and so excited for all that’s still to come.
