🌱 GROWING SOMETHING EXCITING AT MILAN ELEMENTARY! 🌱

The adventure is growing again! 💚

Our Milan Elementary School Nutrition Manager, Mrs. Denise Jones is gearing up for another exciting year of growing alongside our 4th grade students in the cafeteria hydroponics towers—and this year, we have even more room to grow!

With the addition of a second hydroponics tower, students will have the opportunity to learn, plant, grow, and experience even more food that can eventually make its way into our cafeteria! 🌿🥗

Shown here is Raven Browning’s 4th grade class getting the growing process started by planting cherry tomatoes, cucumbers, peppers, lettuce, and basil. 🍅🥒🫑🥬🌿

From tiny seeds to fresh ingredients, our students are getting a hands-on lesson in where food comes from while helping us grow something special right here at school!

We can’t wait to watch this adventure grow! 🌱💜

Our freshly prepared Pasta Salad is made with care, packed with flavor, and built one delicious layer at a time. From the kitchen to the cafeteria, we’re proud to serve our students food that is made with purpose—and made with love! 👩‍🍳❤️

Because school meals aren’t just about filling a tray… they’re about building better meals, creating great flavors, and nourishing our Bulldogs! 🐾

There’s something extra special about serving food that was grown right here in our own community! ❤️

Today, Milan Middle School students are enjoying locally grown watermelon from Bell Family Farms, right here in West Tennessee! 🌱🍉

From the delivery truck… to our nutrition team preparing those sweet, juicy melons… to our students enjoying every bite — this is what Farm to School is all about!

We are proud to bring fresh, locally grown foods to the students we serve and to support our local farmers along the way. 💜

A big THANK YOU to Bell Family Farms for helping us put a little taste of West Tennessee on our students’ trays!
