Hello MHS MB Families,

As we approach the week of band camp I wanted to send out the Commitment Form again and reminders of important dates for this season.

We will be having a parent meeting on Saturday, July 25th: 30 min parent meeting starts at 10:00 am in the MHS Band Room. w/Donuts!

Below is the commitment form that needs to be signed and turned into Mr. Lopez on your students' first day of camp. Also the Band Camp Schedule is attached below.

Besides your student's instrument, they will also need to purchase a Music Folio Flip Folder and a Lyre to attach the music to their instrument. These items can be found through Amazon, Marshall Music, Sweetwater Music Co., Collins Center in Downtown Milan, and other places (like Amazon). To find the correct Lyre, search “Instrument Name” Lyre. All Flip folders should be able to attach to all types of Lyres. Below is a link to Marshall Music Co. Shop and Sweetwater Music Co. Shop.

MS Band Night - Airport VS Milan: October 16th
Eastern Michigan University HS Band Day: October 17th
Senior Night - Grass Lake VS Milan: October 23rd
Milan Winter Parade: December TBD
Milan Memorial Day Parade: May 31st

Welcome to the new Milan Band Boosters page! 🎶

Right now this is very much in the beginning stages, but I’ll really be getting things going this summer. Mr. Lopez mentioned wanting to get a boosters group going for the band program, and honestly I love helping bring people together for good causes and community support like this.

I know there are already band parents who have been helping support Mr. Lopez and the students in different ways, and my hope is to help create a more organized way for all of us to work together and support the program however we can.

I’m planning on having an initial meeting next month, and I’ll post updates and information here as things come together. This page will be the main spot for meetings, volunteer opportunities, fundraising ideas, events, and general updates.

If you’re a band parent — or know one — please invite them to follow the page so we can start building a solid support system for these kids and the program. 🎺🥁🎷
