Hi neighbors!

We thought we should post something up here with the number of questions we've seen going around the neighborhood about a capsize yesterday.
Our club (Brandermill Sailing) was out yesterday for one of our many fun sails, and during these amazing winds, a boat with 2 of our members did capsize. They were quickly met and retrieved by our 2 safety boats and everyone, including their vessel, is in perfect shape. We want to thank these members for their quick thinking and safety practices which helped this to be a controlled situation. They were both wearing life vests, and remained with their boat when it flipped. 👏 This is why safety and capsize drills are an integral part of our sailing instruction classes. 😁

Series 1 Race 3 has come to an end. The forecast was for light winds but we were pleasantly surprised by nice winds. Originally we set the triangle course on the smaller side but once we realized the wind was here to stay we went bigger and had two nice sails to finish up the day.

Day 2, and the building begins! Don't forget to sign up so we can see you all on the 3rd as all this work comes together. We also still need more parade walkers to show off this beauty to the community on July 4th! Let's show them all the sail club knows how to have fun!

🌴⛵ Countdown is on! ⛵🌴

Our Jimmy Buffett-themed parade float build starts Friday, July 3rd at 4:00 PM, and we need all hands on deck!

Crystal will be gathering bamboo over the next two days and bringing it to the house. If you can help, please reach out to her directly — I’m sure she’d love the company and the extra hands.

We also need an accurate headcount for July 3rd so Dan can plan food for the BBQ.

And don’t forget — we need walkers for the parade to help hand out leis to the kids. It’s one of the best parts of the whole parade, and the kids absolutely love it.

Anyone who has already signed up, or signs up within the next 24 hours, will have a Brandermill Sunset to toast the project completion with on July 3rd.

Hey who wants to learn to sail next week?!? Brandermill Sailing Club still has limited space in our annual lessons that start Weds night with shore instruction, followed by 2 full days on the water! It’s not only fun, it’s inexpensive as well, only $150 for Brandermill residents, $200 for others (and only $50 to add another family member). Our US Sailing certified instructor will teach you the basics, and our seasoned captains will help you get practice them on our beautiful lake! The included Club membership for the season will allow you to build muscle memory if you come out and crew in our other regattas and fun sails, too.
