Let me tell you why April is my absolute favorite month of the year.
It's National Financial Literacy Month. It's my birthday month. And this year, I'm finally doing something I should have done a long time ago: showing up here more and talking about the work I care most about.
(Yes, I'm aware it's the 22nd. I like to let the month breathe before diving in.)
I'm not a financial advisor or a certified planner. I'm a former MIT engineer turned nuclear tech turned bank analyst and consultant. I spent twenty years watching smart, capable adults make completely avoidable money mistakes. Not because they weren't intelligent. Because nobody taught them the fundamentals when it mattered.
I decided the best place to fix that problem was at home, with kids, before those habits ever formed.
I've been quietly building MagniFI Your Life around that idea. Writing books. Developing a course. Creating tools for families. Speaking to parent groups and community organizations about what it actually looks like to raise a financially independent kid.
Over the next few weeks I'm going to share what I've learned about money, kids, the surprisingly strong connection between financial security and physical health (yes, really), and what happened when my husband and I turned our own three kids into our first test case.
Some of it will surprise you. Some of it will make you laugh.
Hopefully some of it will be useful.
If you're raising kids or grandkids and ever wonder whether you're doing enough to prepare them financially, stick around. That's exactly who I'm writing for.
And if you want a head start, my book Family Bank Blueprint is the practical manual for everything I'm going to be talking about this month. Link in the comments.
Happy National Financial Literacy Month. Better late than never.
