** Statement from the Million Veteran March Organization:
The Million Veteran March Organization is a 501(c) 19, not for profit, tax exempt, Veteran organization. Our membership is comprised entirely of war veterans. We are not a protest organization, and do not promote political agendas, but instead, choose to operate in a spirit of unity. We commend the Veterans Administration and Veteran Service Organizations for a job well done.
Our mission is to deploy nationwide implementing veteran marches to proudly support our nation's veterans in a patriotic way, and raise awareness to the issues affecting veterans. We provide assistance to homeless, unemployed, and less fortunate veterans, to improve their quality of life.
Recently, there have been anger directed at the government and its elected officials. Most of the anger and frustration is due to the government shutdown which has greatly affected Veterans, and civilians alike. These emotions inspired a march on Memorials, Monuments, and eventually lead to demonstrations at the White House.
Although we were contacted by an organizer and participants of these demonstrations, we have no affiliation with these particular organizations. The Million Veteran March would like to reiterate that we are not a protest organization, do not promote political agendas, and proudly support our nations Veterans in a patriotic way.
