If you missed our concert this past Saturday....than you really missed out on something extraordinary. Not only was the performance absurdly stupendous, but the community band managed to award $22,000 in summer camp scholarships this year to 25 lucky students. What an amazing highlight to the organizations' year. We wish to thank our sponsor, High Plains Exploration, for literally EVERYTHING they do for the band/ jazz band/organization. Without them, none of this would be possible. Catch our next concert on July 4th at 2pm on the beautiful Midland College campus.

The band had the opportunity to play at the Midland College Honor's Convocation week before last. What a supreme honor it was to help the graduates make the their day even a bit more special. Come here the band tomorrow, Saturday May 16 at 2pm for an amazing end of year concert!!!!!

What an amazing week to be a Midland Community Band member!!! First off, at the beginning of the week, Mr. Swails and some of our members had the honor of being the house band for the PBS Christmas Special! Dr. Mark MacDonald did the arrangements for the group, and the band sounded great!! Make sure to catch the broadcast on PBS on December 18th.
We rounded up our week with High Plains Exploration(our most amazing sponsor) donating an ENTIRE drum kit to one of our young student members! Miss Lainey Booker is a treasure and is a committed member of our ensemble and organization. Although young, she is top notch when it comes to her talent and perfomance skills. In our opinion...WELL DESERVED! Anything to help enrich our young musician's love of music will only help guarantee success in their future. Mr. Swails and Mr. Harrill(percussion extraordinaire) went to the Booker's home to get her all set up and ready for some serious practice. Congratulations, Miss Booker!!! We look forward to seeing what your future holds.
