🚌 National School Bus Safety Week! 🚌

October 19th–23rd, 2026 is National School Bus Safety Week! This year’s national theme is "Safe Rides, Everyday Heroes." 💛

Keeping our students safe on the way to and from school is a community effort. Please keep these key reminders in mind:

For Drivers: Always stop when yellow school bus lights flash red and the stop arm is extended. Slow down in school zones and eliminate all distractions.

For Students: Stay visible! Be extra cautious around the 10-foot area surrounding the bus and always stand three big steps back from the curb while waiting.

A huge THANK YOU to our dedicated OneClay bus drivers and transportation staff - our everyday heroes behind the wheel! 🛣️✨

🚌 Want to be a bus driver? We’re hiring!

Join our transportation team and help drive the future of Clay County! Visit oneclay.net/bus to explore current employment opportunities.

❤️ Give this post a like to show your appreciation for our amazing school bus drivers!

A great way to learn about flowers is to examine every part of them, so students in Mrs. Smith's classes took some time to dissect flowers. Great job, everyone!

🎉 BIG NEWS, CLAY COUNTY! 🎉

Clay County District Schools has officially been named one of only 18 Academically High-Performing School Districts in the entire state of Florida for the 2025–2026 school year by the Florida Department of Education!

This prestigious recognition reflects our dedication to academic excellence, operational accountability, and student success across every classroom.

To earn and maintain this status, school districts must meet rigorous state benchmarks:

Academic Excellence: Earn an "A" district grade for two consecutive years without any district-operated school receiving an "F."

Classroom Focus: Fully comply with state class size requirements.

Fiscal Responsibility: Maintain clean annual financial audits with no material weaknesses or compliance issues.

This milestone is a direct result of the commitment of our teachers, support professionals, administrators, and district leadership under Superintendent David Broskie, paired with the hard work of our students and the steadfast support of our families and community.

Thank you for believing in our students and making Clay County a leader in Florida public education! 📚✨

Mr. Schaefer doesn't use social media, so we're hoping we can sneak this past him.

In honor of Principals Month, we'd love to see everyone dress like Mr. Schaefer, so we're having our first-ever Dress Like the Principal Day!

Next Friday, October 23, we are inviting everyone to dress like Mr. Schaefer. Mr. Schaefer usually wears dress shoes, dress pants, a dress shirt, a tie, and glasses. He's also been known to rock a Tynes Elementary shirt.

The most important part of this is that we want to surprise Mr. Schaefer, so please don't ask him for fashion tips before the big day!

Celebrate Red Ribbon Week with us!

Nationally, Red Ribbon Week is observed October 23-October 31. We will be condensing nine days of fun into five by celebrating October 26-30.

This year's theme is "Be A Hero. Stay Drug Free."

Here is our plan for making positive, healthy choices for our minds and
bodies for a lifetime:

Monday 10/26 - Tynes Heroes are RED-y to be Drug Free - Red Day
Everyone is invited to wear red as we kick off Red Ribbon Week.

Tuesday 10/27 - Be Kind to Your Mind and Body, Drug Free - Pink Day
Since Tuesdays in October also celebrate cancer awareness, everyone in Tiger Country is encouraged to wear pink.

Wednesday 10/28 - Better Together, Drug and Bully-Free - Friends Day
Students and all staff are invited to dress alike with friends. This is meant to be a large-group activity with everyone having the opportunity to be included.

Thursday 10/29 - Heroes Switch Roles - Role Reversal Day
On this date, students are invited to dress like teachers, and teachers are invited to dress like students.

Friday 10/30 - Be Your Own Hero, Stay Drug Free - Heroes Day
To close out our week, all faculty and staff are encouraged to wear the shirt of their favorite hero. Students NOT participating in grade-level costume events are also invited to wear their favorite hero shirt.

Please note that all clothing/costumes remain subject to dress code requirements.
