I put together an Amazon Wishlist with some of the books, learning games, supplies, and goodies I use (or would love to add!) to make tutoring sessions fun, engaging, and hands-on for my students.

There is absolutely no pressure or expectation at all — but if you ever feel like supporting my small business in a tangible way, checking out my wishlist is one way to do that! 💛

Every little addition helps me continue creating a fun, welcoming space where kids can build their skills and their confidence.

Thank you, for your support ❤️

Sometimes the best learning happens when kids don’t even realize they’re learning. 💛

This week, with some of my upcoming first graders, we turned phonogram practice into a game—and while they were busy playing, laughing, and trying to beat me, they were also strengthening the skills they need to become confident readers.

Phonograms. Decoding. Word recognition. Sounding out words.

These skills are incredibly important, but that doesn’t mean practicing them has to feel like work. When learning is engaging and meaningful, kids are more willing to take risks, make mistakes, try again, and—most importantly—build confidence.

That’s what I love about tutoring: finding the activities that make a child say, “Can we play that again?” while I’m secretly thinking, “Yep… and we’re going to practice those reading skills again, too.” 😉

Because when kids are having fun, they’re learning.

And when they feel successful, they start believing, “I can do this.”

That confidence is where the real magic happens. 📚✨

For a long time, I wasn’t sure if I should share this, but I think it’s important.

I have ADHD.

Growing up, school was not always easy for me. From elementary school through high school, I struggled with executive functioning skills. I had trouble staying organized, remembering assignments, turning things in on time, managing larger projects, and keeping track of all the little details that seemed to come naturally to others.

Even my first attempts at college were challenging because I was still learning how to work with my brain instead of constantly feeling like I was fighting against it.

But when I found the right strategies, support, and learning environment, everything changed. When I attended UCF, I earned straight A’s (with the exception of one very humbling B in statistics 😉). The difference? I was studying a subject I was truly passionate about, and I had learned how to use my ADHD traits to my advantage. My ability to hyperfocus, dive deeply into topics that interested me, and become completely invested in my learning became strengths rather than obstacles.

It wasn’t that I suddenly became “smarter”—I was always capable. I just finally understood how my brain worked and how to use strategies that helped me succeed.

That experience has shaped the educator I am today.

As a teacher, I learned that a child who struggles with organization, focus, completing assignments, or managing their workload is not a child who isn’t trying. Often, they are a child who needs different tools, different strategies, and someone who believes in them.

Having ADHD has given me a unique perspective and has helped me connect with neurodivergent learners in a meaningful way. I love helping students discover strategies that work for their brains, build confidence, and recognize that their challenges do not define their abilities.

When I am tutoring, my goal has never been just better grades. My goal is to help students feel capable, confident, and successful.

Sometimes the biggest change happens when a child finally has someone who understands them. 💙

📚✨ One Spot Left for the New School Year! ✨📚

I’m excited to share that I have one opening available for the upcoming school year for tutoring services in the Micco/Sebastian area!

A little about me… I am a certified K–6 elementary education teacher with endorsements in Reading (K–12) and ESOL. I have spent many years in education, including experience as an elementary teacher and preschool director, helping students build strong academic foundations and confidence as learners.

In July 2024, my husband was diagnosed with brain cancer, and I made the difficult decision to step away from full-time teaching so I could focus on caring for him and our family. We are so thankful that he is currently stable, and after everything we have been through, we have decided to prioritize spending more time together and being intentional with our family time.

While I am not returning to the classroom full-time, I am so happy to continue doing what I love by providing one-on-one and small group support for students in a more personalized setting.

I truly believe that every child can learn. Sometimes students just need someone to meet them where they are, encourage them, and help them build the confidence they need to succeed. My approach is confidence-centered, focusing on both academic growth and helping students believe in themselves as learners.

I am also a Step Up Direct Pay provider.

I provide suport for:
✨ Reading & phonics
✨ Reading comprehension
✨ Writing skills
✨ Elementary math support
✨ Homework help
✨ Building confidence and independence
& more!

If you’re looking for an experienced educator who genuinely cares about helping your child reach their highest potential, I would love to connect!
