Caregiving is love in one of its most selfless forms. But it can also be exhausting in ways that are hard to explain unless you’ve lived it.
You spend so much time worrying about appointments, medications, decisions, changes, and what tomorrow might bring. You’re trying to be strong for someone you love while quietly carrying fear, sadness, exhaustion and sometimes grief of your own.
And somewhere in the middle of caring for everyone else, it becomes very easy to forget about yourself.
Caregiver burnout is real. Taking an hour for yourself, asking for help, going for a walk, seeing a friend, resting, laughing, or simply stepping away for a little while does not mean you love them any less.
You matter, too.
If you are caring for someone you love right now, please remember: you deserve the same compassion and care you so freely give to everyone else. 🤍
And if no one has told you lately — you’re doing a beautiful job in a really hard season.
