Dr. Robert Morris, Ph.D. ’08, has dedicated his life to education, mentorship, advocacy, and creating opportunities for future generations. Born and raised in Miami, Dr. Morris has spent decades empowering students and communities through leadership rooted in service, equity, and social justice.
After earning degrees from Colgate University and American InterContinental University, Dr. Morris completed his doctorate in Leadership and Education at Barry University, where his research focused on culturally responsive teaching and supporting Black students in education. Inspired by his late mentor and godmother, Dr. Shirley Bailey Johnson, his passion for advocacy began early through involvement with the NAACP Youth Council and student activism.
While attending Colgate University, Dr. Morris organized peaceful demonstrations addressing racial injustice and became the first African American elected Student Government Association Vice President in the institution’s history. His leadership helped expand opportunities for students of color and encouraged important conversations surrounding equity and inclusion.
Today, Dr. Morris continues to impact South Florida as a professor at Broward College and Miami Dade College, mentor, keynote speaker, and founder of South Florida Village Inc. Through his nonprofit and community work, he has guided countless students toward academic success, scholarships, mentorship opportunities, and brighter futures.
From chartering an NAACP collegiate chapter at Broward College to leading conversations on diversity, education, and social justice nationally, Dr. Morris remains committed to uplifting communities and preparing the next generation of leaders.
As Congressman John Lewis said, “The time is always right to do what is right.” Dr. Morris continues to live that mission every day.

From Barry University to executive leadership roles at Netflix, Twitter, and Colgate-Palmolive, Nikkia Reveillac ’01 has built a career defined by innovation, resilience, and human connection.
Raised in Trinidad and Tobago, Nikkia arrived at Barry searching not only for academic opportunity, but also for community and belonging. While balancing academics with a work-study position to help pay tuition, she developed the discipline, teamwork, and financial responsibility that would later shape her approach to leadership. At the same time, she was navigating homesickness and learning how to build meaningful relationships far from home.
Some of her favorite Barry memories came from the simple moments of dorm life during freshman year. After attending all-girls schools growing up and being surrounded by women at home, she found comfort and freedom in the residence halls, spending nights in common spaces, moving from room to room with friends, and building bonds that made campus feel like family.
Over the course of her career, Nikkia has become a transformative force in insights, innovation, and brand strategy. She helped guide Netflix toward its first-ever brand promise, fostered safer organizational culture at Twitter during the pandemic and 2020 election cycle, and led groundbreaking insights work for Colgate-Palmolive across Africa Eurasia. Today, she continues to empower organizations and individuals through consulting, speaking, mentoring, and her growing community, Birds Uncaged.
Reflecting on her journey, Nikkia shares: “I have built a career by paying attention to what gives me energy and by staying willing to evolve, even when the next step was not obvious.”
Her story is a reminder that success does not have to follow a traditional path. Curiosity, grit, resilience, and authenticity can open doors you never imagined possible.
