The opening concert takes place at Church of the Little Flower’s Comber Hall, featuring Ariel Ramírez’s Misa Criolla.

Friday, April 19th

Wertheim Concert Hall
All-Choral concert with special guests, showcasing the variety of Latin American choral music and its roots, with a powerful combined choir setting at the end.
Featured choirs: FIU Concert Choir, Amazonia Vocal Ensemble, Encantus Voices, and Cusib Global

Saturday, April 20th
7:30 p.m.
Wertheim Concert Hall
The choirs alongside the FIU Symphony Orchestra will perform Cantata Criolla, poetry by Alberto Arvelo Torrealba, music by Antonio Estévez, celebrating the work's 70th anniversary.
Featured Choirs: FIU Concert Choir, Amazonia Vocal Ensemble, Encantus Voices, and Cusib Global.
Featured Soloists: Carlos Silva and Juan Tomás Martínez

Maibel T***a, conductor of Encantus Voices, visited FIU Concert Choir (Erynn Millard, conductor) as both choirs prepare for the FIU Latin American Choral Festival (April 18-21). During this visit, Concert Choir learned more about the Cantata Criolla, which will be the centerpiece of the April 20 and 21 concerts.

Here, Maestra T***a leads the end of Goza mi Calipso, which will be sung by FIU Concert Choir with guest choirs Encantus Voices & Ensemble, Amazonia Vocal Ensemble, and Cusibglobal Cusibglobal.

Join the students of the FIU Opera Workshop as they perform Henry Purcell’s monumental Baroque opera, Dido & Aeneas, February 1st and 2nd at 7:30 pm at The Wertheim Concert Hall.

Don’t miss this heartbreaking tale of love and loyalty based on Book IV of Virgil’s Aeneid. The production will be staged by the Director of the FIU Opera Workshop, Robert B. Dundas, and accompanied by the FIU Collegium, conducted by Juvenal Correa-Salas. See you at The Wertheim!

Rehearsals begin next week under the direction of the incredible Dr. Glenda Foster and will be held every Tuesday from 6:30 PM to 8:30 PM at the Wertheim School of Music (Recital Hall, WPAC 150).
