We believe growing food changes lives. Since 2011, we have been teaching people to grow food.

Growing food improves nutrition security and mental health, increases time spent outdoors, and cultivates a deeper appreciation for our collective impact on the climate. We now support schools, families, and communities across the country to grow their own food through training, grants, garden bed donations, and providing materials directly to teachers and growers to create and support their garden programs.

San Antonio keeps growing! This Spring, 104 more garden beds were deployed to our partners at the AME Church in San Antonio, TX.

“We have reached approximately 400 families, positively changing health outcomes and promoting healthier lifestyles. Many people's health has greatly improved. It is rewarding to witness the transformation as children and families learn about nutrition, make healthy choices, and distinguish between wholesome food and junk food.”
– Rev. Dr. W. Raymond Bryant, San Antonio Million Garden Project Leader

The Ag & Food Lab is reshaping Colorado’s food supply chain from a 35-acre farm in Bennett to distribution hubs and SNAP-authorized markets across Denver. Cold storage, logistics, market access — they’re building it all across Colorado.

We’re proud to back orgs like that are reimagining their local food systems.

Happy Earth Day! 🌍

At Big Green, we believe that growing food is one of the most powerful things a person can do for this planet. Your support is a part of a bigger picture to address food insecurity, climate change, and to create a healthier, more connected world. 💚

Our partners and educators across the country share this mission every single day by teaching sustainable growing practices, reconnecting communities to the land, and proving that change can start in a garden bed.

Today, on Earth Day, we're asking you to be part of that. Our campaign closes at midnight and every dollar raised keeps this work going all year long. 🌱

348 families in San Antonio are growing their own food — what started as one small garden at Grant Community AME Church has grown into a citywide movement.

Cynthia Burris began with a Big Green home garden, and it quickly became her path to healing, community, and taking back her health.

This giving season, you can power more growers like Cynthia:
• $100 = grow bag, soil + seeds
• $500 = family garden bed kit
• $1,000 = community workshop
• $5,000 = 8 raised-garden beds at a school or community site

Help communities grow their own future. Give by Dec 31st to maximize your impact.
