📢 Charter School Leaders: The 2026-27 Salary Increase Allocation (SIA) deadline is approaching.

Most districts will be requesting completed Salary Increase Allocation plans in mid-to-late September to meet the state's October 1 submission deadline.

To help schools navigate the process, the Florida Charter Institute (FCI) Support Team has updated the 2026-27 Salary Increase Allocation Calculator and released a comprehensive step-by-step walkthrough video.

This week, across Florida, hundreds of charter school communities are opening their doors and welcoming students to a brand-new year filled with possibility, purpose, and promise.

At the Florida Charter Institute, powered by Miami Dade College, these days are especially meaningful. Throughout the year, we have the privilege of partnering with and supporting hundreds of educators, school leaders, governing board members, and staff through professional learning, coaching, technical assistance, and collaboration. Seeing students walk through school doors today reminds us why this work matters.

From buses arriving before sunrise, to teachers greeting students at campus entrances, to hallways buzzing with excitement, schools are coming alive once again. Building stronger, more inclusive schools starts with learning from those doing the work every day.

FCI is excited to share on behalf of UCP, The UCP Inclusion Experience. A unique opportunity for charter school educators and leadership teams to explore evidence-based inclusive practices in action. Participants will have the chance to visit an inclusive charter school, engage with experienced educators, gain access to practical tools and implementation resources, and leave with a realistic plan to strengthen inclusion within their own schools.

This no-cost experience is designed for charter school leaders, general education and ESE teachers, instructional coaches, student support teams, paraprofessionals, and classroom support staff. Travel stipends are also available for eligible participants.
