There’s something so empowering about being able to accompany yourself while you sing 🎹🎤

Here’s Ms. Jo working with one of our adult students on developing pop piano skills while singing “Count on Me” by Bruno Mars. Lessons like these help students build coordination, confidence, musical independence, and a deeper connection to the music they love.

So proud of the progress happening in this studio! 💜

Check out the students from as they work in small groups to figure out the rhythm of a poem Ms. K taught them! 🎶 Through collaboration and active listening, students are building rhythmic literacy, strengthening pattern recognition, and connecting music to language in a fun, meaningful way.

Different instrument, same goal—building strong musical foundations 🎶
With desk bells, this student is continuing to develop note recognition and rhythmic accuracy in a way that feels clear and achievable. Each bell represents a single note, allowing him to focus on reading music step by step while experiencing success along the way.
Finding the right approach helps every student grow with confidence—and THATS the most important part!

Sometimes the best progress happens when we meet a student exactly where they are…
This student began with piano, but we realized a different approach would better support his learning. By switching to glockenspiel and desk bells, he’s still building strong music reading skills—just in a way that feels more accessible and successful for him. Love being able to bring the public school skills into the private music lesson setting! 💜

Music education isn’t one-size-fits-all, and finding the right path can make all the difference 🎶

There’s nothing like that aha moment when a student locks into harmony 🎶
Ms. Jo is guiding her student through 2-part harmony—helping her hear, hold, and confidently sing her own line while another melody happens at the same time. This builds independence, pitch accuracy, and strong listening skills (all essential for ensemble singing!).
Moments like these are where musicianship really starts to shine
