What an honor to have been appointed and sworn in to serve on the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust of Miami-Dade County. The Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (Transportation Trust) is the 15-member body created to oversee the People’s Transportation Plan funded with the half-penny sales surtax. The Transportation Trust has certain power over the use and expenditure of proceeds of proposed charter County transit system surtax; providing trust membership; providing severability, inclusion in the code and more. The Office of the Citizens’ Independent Transportation Trust (OCITT) provides staff support for the Transportation Trust and coordinates public outreach efforts to inform the community regarding the improvements that have been implemented using surtax funds.
