c Opera of Chicago, San Francisco Opera, The Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall and Glyndebourne. They have been winners and participants in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, the BBC Cardiff Singer of the World Competition, The George London Awards and most of the major singing competitions in the USA. He is regularly sought-out by professional singers for technical advice and by schools, opera companies and training programs for masterclasses and clinics. In 2020-2021, Ferrante serves as voice teacher for Wolf Trap Opera, Minnesota Opera, Michigan Opera Theatre, Pensacola Opera, Nashville Opera and Kentucky Opera. In previous seasons, he taught for Arizona Opera, Florida Grand Opera, Virginia Opera and Opera Omaha. He has given masterclasses for schools and opera companies around the USA and was a member of the voice faculty of the UBC Summer Voice Workshop. In the 2016-2017 school year, Ferrante was a one-year visiting professor of voice at the University of Miami Frost School of Music. He is currently entering his sixth year leading the classical voice division as a national panelist for YoungArts and serves as a judge for the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions. Ferrante holds both Bachelor and Master of Music degrees from The Juilliard School where his primary studies were with Beverley Peck Johnson and Cynthia Hoffmann. His additional voice studies were with Rita Shane, Phyllis Curtin and Richard Leech. While at Juilliard, Ferrante was nurtured by many of the finest language coaches in the singing world including Nico Castel, Thomas Grubb, Corradina Caporello, Richard Cross, and Kathryn LaBouff. His primary acting studies were with Edward Berkeley and Frank Corsaro. His further studies were at Wolf Trap, Tanglewood and Aspen as well as the Pacific Music Festival in Sapporo, Japan and the University of Miami School of Music in Salzburg. Live voice lessons are normally in South Florida and New York City as well in the cities where he is engaged at any given time. Online lessons are also available via Skype, Zoom or a comparable program.

On the road as the 24-25 season continues. Currently jumping coast to coast having spent a few days preparing Manon Lescaut with Corinne Winters for her upcoming performance with Washington Concert Opera. Joining my friends from Victory Hall Opera for a small project in DC, then off to Portland Opera to start my 3rd season working with the resident artists.

Summer has been off to a great start! A fabulous June at Brevard and Wolf Trap. Headed to Cooperstown tomorrow then back to Wolf Trap as well as to San Juan with the Olga Iglesias Fellowship and then Salzburg to teach and also be with Corinne Winters for her highly anticipated debut at the Salzburg Festival in the title role in Barrie Kosky's new Káťa Kabanová.

2022 has been non-stop and quite a ride. Three back-to-back productions on stage (Sweeney in Omaha, Nozze in Virginia and an absolutely mindblowing Salome in Tulsa). On top of that, maintaining my teaching duties. Looking forward to a busy Summer in the traveling studio. Students slaying it around the world! Stay tuned! JF

YoungArts Week 2022 is here!
I've chosen 8 incredible finalists from a large and competitive pool this year. We have an exciting week planned including daily work with me, my partner-in-crime , pianist Jeremy Reger and my roster of guests for this year which includes Nicole Cabell, Johnathan McCullough and Chuck Hudson. These singers represent the cream of the crop of classical singers aged 15-18 in the US.
