SUPER Lab is conducting a study to learn how preschoolers aged between 33 and 40 months discuss prior events over Zoom. Once you pass the pre-eligibility form, you will be redirected to a page to schedule your child’s screening call. The screening call takes place over Zoom for approximately 30 minutes, but we are blocking 40 minutes for the session just in case of any technical difficulties.


If your child is eligible to continue with the study during the screening session, you will be asked to schedule 4 more sessions with us. Throughout the 4 sessions, your child will participate in a virtual science show, listen to stories and answer questions about the stories. The entire study will take a total of 2 hours over 3 weeks. Upon completion of the study, you will be compensated with a $40 e-gift card plus a study completion bonus of $10 e-gift card and your child will receive a Junior Scientist digital certificate.

SUPER Lab is looking for children aged 3-5 who love science as part of a study to learn how preschoolers think about experts! The study takes place over Zoom for about 25 minutes. But we are blocking 40 minutes for the session just in case of any technical difficulties.

In the session, one of the trained research assistants, who mostly are FIU undergraduate students, will meet you and your child and conduct the session over Zoom. Congratulations to another one of our research assistants on graduating! Kellie Sullivan majored in criminal justice and psychology. She also obtained a certificate in pre-law. She is a passionate and well-rounded student that has been involved in many organizations both on and off campus. As she continues into the next chapter of her life, she looks forward to applying her knowledge to her future work in graduate school and within the legal system. Kellie is interested in research on children and families within the legal system. Some of her hobbies include working out, listening to music, going to concerts, traveling, shopping, being a plant mom, trying new foods/restaurants, and cooking. She plans to enter graduate school within the next year with the goal of working in family law.

Congratulations to our research assistant Brittney Ellis that just graduated! She is a determined and hardworking student with a major in psychology. She is interested in research with topics on children and adolescent development, holistic psychology, and clinical psychology. After graduation, she plans to focus on gaining experience in research and obtaining her master's in clinical mental health counseling.

Congratulations to our pre-med student Melissa Hernandez on graduating! She is determined, passionate, and hard-working. Her research interests are cell biology, genetics, and developmental psychology. She enjoys spending time with family and friends. In the near future, she plans to go to medical school, and her goal is to become a dermatologist.

One of our research assistants, Liliana Almeida, who majored in Psychology, graduated!

Liliana believes that scientific research can provide us with incredible opportunities to improve our understanding and increase our compassion for each other.
Her research interests include neurological disorders' effects on behaviors, forensic interviewing with children/young adults, cognitive development, substance abuse, and more. 
Liliana enjoys working out, whether it's CrossFit or traditional strength training. Finding new coffee shops, and reading, or visiting bookstores!
After graduating, Liliana will be very excited to have the opportunity of conducting her own research and have the ability to spread her knowledge in different settings.
