Barbara Hawkins Elementary is an attractive, well-maintained facility with a dedicated staff and a “family” type atmosphere. The school was constructed in 1960 and has undergone two major additions and renovations. Barbara Hawkins Elementary, originally called North Carol City Elementary, consists of a regular elementary with a resource Gifted program. There are approximately 368 students enrolled

BHE’s fifth grade prom was an event to remember! Our Hornets danced to their favorite songs, dressed in their cutest outfits, and celebrated closing this chapter with their school family. We know they will cherish these memories forever as they get ready for middle school! ,
