ST. EDWARD SENIOR SPOTLIGHT | EMMA FAYE FLYNN

Today we are proud to spotlight Emma Faye Flynn, a member of the St. Edward Class of 2022 and now a senior at Archbishop Chapelle! During high school, Emma has maintained a 4.0 GPA every year while staying busy with volleyball, Pro-Life Club and Student Council. She also serves as a Chapelle Ambassador and is involved in Campus Ministry as a Eucharistic Minister. One of her favorite high school memories was traveling to Belize on a mission trip.

Emma is still especially proud of receiving the Zabrecky Award in sixth grade. She credits Mrs. Williams and Mr. Donnes with making a lasting impact on her and helping her feel prepared for high school. The leadership skills she developed and the importance of always being kind are lessons she continues to carry with her today.

After graduation, Emma plans to attend LSU and eventually apply to sonography school. She describes her years at St. Edward as fun, memorable and eventful, and her advice to today’s Eagles is to enjoy it, have fun and get involved in as much as possible.

We are so proud of Emma and cannot wait to see where this next chapter takes her! Once an Eagle, Always an Eagle! 🦅💛

Our Rosary Club gathered for its first rosary of the year! Once a week after school, Eagles from all grade levels come together in prayer. There is just something so special about seeing our older students help our younger students learn to pray the rosary. FACULTY SPOTLIGHT 🌟 If you’ve spent any time at St. Edward, chances are you already know Mrs. Annette Kirkpatrick! Her history here goes back 50 years as a student, parent, parishioner, Cochon de Lait regular, and, for the past 10 years, a teacher. She loves the hilarious things kindergarteners say—you truly never know what is coming next—and the pride on their faces when something finally clicks. If she could choose a superpower, it would be knowing exactly how to reach every child and help each one succeed. And when she isn’t teaching, you can always count on her quick wit and perfectly timed sarcasm to keep everyone at school laughing! Her advice to our Eagles is: “Ask for help when needed…we are here and ready to help you!” Fifty years later, she is still right where she belongs—and St. Edward would not be the same without her. 🖤💛
