Needed some coasters for my root beer float. So I cut up an old pallet, split it down the grain with a jig saw, lit it on fire, and filled it in with red epoxy to make it look like a river of lava... Lava Coasters. One set left, I put it on my item. @ Mesa, Arizona

New products up on my like this super fancy wine bottle/glass displays. This one in particular is extra nifty because of the walnut inlay. This is only the second inlay I’ve done, but I think it turned out great! Check out the link to my shop in my bio!

So I haven’t posted in a while, the baby is 2 1/2 months now and is filling diapers faster than I can change them. But summer break is here and I’ve managed to find the time to flip this find. What was once a run down, sad looking, colonial style, cocktail table is now a sleek inspired coffee table.

My first wedged through mortise and tenon joint. It’s super sloppy, but it holds strong without any glue!

We paid about $40 for this baby gate about 6 years ago to keep the dogs away from all of ‘s violin students. From day one the thing looked weak and flimsy. The way it mounted into drywall with four small 1/4 inch screws made me think that one day we’d be facing a lawsuit from a dog-trampling-child incident. Miraculously the thing held up fine the whole time. It met its match however last month when baby came and we quickly realized the opening wasn’t big enough to get a baby carrier or a stroller through.

I want to say that it is a great gate. But, it was a great gate for us using it for an unintended purpose, dogs instead of babies. Now that we’re using it with a baby, it’s a pretty crappy product. Babies are small, but all other baby things are to big to fit through... 2 stars....

Anyway, I made a new gate. It costs $14 to make.

Happy this project is finished! I was about a week late since baby Joey decided to make his appearance two weeks early.
Had to stay up late into the morning to get the last 6 doors installed and the last coat of finish on.
The client is a professional photographer and has promised some studio shots once he installs the drawer pulls he ordered and the quartz countertops/sinks.

I hung 9 doors this way for this project. Before I hang another, I’m buying a jig or two to make the process quicker.
