Last week I try to start a reading club for reluctant readers that are in 2nd- 5th grade where they can get together with a few of their peers and read a fun book. I’ve done it in person many times and kids really like it and I wanted to try it online. I offered it for free. And kids could use it for the reading homework.

I didn’t have much response. It was supposed to go from 6 to 630. Maybe the timing is bad? Please share your thoughts. Thanks.

Tutorbug AZ started in 2015 by Chris Formichella, as an in-person tutoring service to empower students to be their very best while empowering them improve their reading and helping with homework in the East Valley of the Phoenix area. When COVID hit, as teachers we had to learn to teach online. While tutoring one-on-one online we learned that this is an excellent way to provide the same type of service without using time and resources for traveling. Soon we transitioned to online only and found that to be a much more efficient way to reach our students, while still providing the undivided attention they need and deserve.
Chris Formichella gets it. She grew up in a family with undiagnosed dyslexia. She raised two sons. She is a certified Life Coach and a Special Education teacher with over ten years of experience. TutorBug was born from a belief that every student is full of potential and can learn. It is our job as educators to figure out how to best teach each child.
