Students move through hands-on tasks across five job areas, business, construction, consumer service, processing and production, covering 260+ skills and 264 jobs. Each one is scored on observable performance: what the student actually did.

In a high-stakes IEP or placement meeting, "we felt they were ready" is a hard place to stand. Observable, task-based evidence is much firmer ground.

From our 2026 survey of 308 educators: 80% rated PAES data as highly credible, 74% trust it for high-stakes decisions, and 75% say it reduces subjectivity.

AI can write an essay and solve a worksheet in seconds. But it can't sort real inventory, wire a component, or complete a hands-on task for a student.

That's the difference with PAES: performance-based assessment using tasks drawn from real jobs, scored on what students actually do, not what they can describe on paper.
