What Makes a Conversation Truly “Rational”?
This week, I’ve been reflecting on how quickly conversations can fall apart—not because of the topic itself, but because of how we react to it.
For The Special Educator, this is core:
Perspective: Everyone brings a story.
Information: Ideas deserve to be examined on their own.
Knowledge: We grow when we question our assumptions.
Engagement: We stay in the conversation, even when it’s uncomfortable.
My goal is to model goodness, discipline, and knowledge in every discussion—especially for neurodivergent students and the people who support them.
Thank you for following along this week as we explored how to stay open, curious, and respectful in challenging conversations.
