“Learning Through Service - Apprentissage par le Service" We decided to answer that question ourselves with the founding of Medical Student Missions.

Following the January 12, 2010 earthquake in Haiti, members of the Indiana University School of Medicine-Northwest class of 2013 were moved to form a non-profit group, Medical Student Missions, with our advisor, Dr. William Forgey, in order to provide ongoing support for the region. We read about the immediate support in the ensuing days and weeks, but wondered whether that support would be present months and years from the day of the quake.
