Max Velocity Training
Good max velocity is the ability to hold speed and cover ground. We want to collect air time and cycle while pushing to top speeds.
The better the cycle the more efficient the movement pattern. Injuries happen with poor movement quality as speed increases, misfires, and inability to safely produce power needed to obtain and sustain top speed.

What are tools if you don’t know how, when, and what to use?
(Volleyball)
Every sport has demands and the body must meet those demands. For a sport such as volleyball athletes (especially club athletes) may make 150-200 contacts with the ground over a given weekend. So the question is how do we keep the athlete healthy, productive, and available?
We want to improve the capacity of the tendons, joint health, and performance outputs. The goal isn’t annihilation but steady intensity and volume to produce higher performance outputs and outcomes. This is from a physical perspective.

“A tweener?” What is a “tweener”?
You read it right, when it comes to getting recruited the term “tweener” is usually not good news for an athlete. Tweener is short for between. To sum it up the term describes an athlete that probably does a lot of things good but nothing great. A lot of these athletes fall in recruitment because there is nothing that makes you love their game (respectfully).
For athletes (especially) undersized this is where you don’t want to be. If you are undersized you have to be exceptional in at least 1 category to really have a chance at getting a legitimate “look.” Don’t beat yourself up or become discouraged. Work on your game and being exceptional in aspects that are your strengths.
Ex. A 5’10” athlete and 6’1” with the same skill set. The 6’1” athlete will get the nod and more grace nine times out of ten.
