Wow, what a weekend! Eric and Erin have some serious skills when it comes to teaching. A group of students learned the basics of IV with Eric, and another group learned phlebotomy from Erin.

🩺 Why you should consider being a Medical Assistant first 🩺

We all know the medical field is an incredibly large and complex field. Your options are quite limitless, from being a Medical Assistant to a Cardiac Surgeon, a Phlebotomist to a Nuclear Medicine Technologist (😱).

🛣️You can be anything you want to be and there are many ways to get there.

👩🏼‍⚕️A surgeon might need a little more time and just a few more steps than a nurse would, for a example:
1. Earn a bachelor's degree
2. Complete medical school
3. Undergo residency
4. Obtain a license
5. Earn certifications
6. Consider a fellowship
7. Prepare a resume or CV

✅ But you know what they might also need to complete step 2?
Something called ✨Direct Patient Care✨ hours.
Basically, most medical schools like for you to have SOME direct experience with patients.
And a really good way to get those hours is becoming a Medical Assistant, or a Phlebotomist, etc.

Being a Medical Assistant also gives you the freedom and ability to be able to try out different specialties (like Cardiology 🫀 or OB/GYN🤰🏼 )and see where you fit in the best so that when you become a Nurse Practitioner, or a surgeon (💰💰💰), you know a little more about where your heart belongs 🫀

”After working front desk in a Medical Office, I felt that there was something more for me in the Medical Field although growing up I never thought I’d end up in the Medical field. From the moment I met Donna, I saw how much of a genuine and honest person she was and how she wore her heart on her sleeve. She was the funniest, caring and down to earth instructor that I’ve ever met. She is so knowledgeable and will teach you her tricks! She was also a huge help to me in being someone I could turn to when applying for jobs and her opinion meant a lot to me! I graduated in March of 2023!
