JAX UPDATE 5-15-26 POST OP



We truly couldn’t have asked for a better outcome. We are so incredibly grateful and blessed to have such a strong, brave fighter in Jax. His surgery went beautifully. Honestly beyond anything we could have hoped and prayed for.

The resection ended up being far less difficult than his surgical team initially expected. Based on the amount of vascular structures feeding the tumor, they anticipated significant bleeding during surgery, but thankfully the bleeding was very minimal.

One of the biggest concerns going into surgery was fibrous tissue that appeared to be connected near the neighboring ventricle, an area of the brain responsible for motor movement on his left side. Thankfully, there was very minimal connectivity, which made the resection much less complex and reduced many of the risks they were worried about beforehand.

Most importantly, Jax is awake, talking, and doing very well. He is currently resting in the PICU. If all continues to go well, we will be moved to a regular room where he can continue to heal and rest.

We are overwhelmed with gratitude for his incredible surgical team and for every prayer, message, and ounce of support that has carried us through today. ❤️

Sabercat family: this is one of our very own students. An online auction has been put together to help pay for Jax’s upcoming surgery and hospital stay. Take a look at some of the items available and bid if you can!

Our son Jax just turned 13. He’s curious, determined, and full of life—a strong student who loves boxing, races at Meridian Speedway, and collects geodes with his friends.

On March 18, a seizure while riding his scooter led to a CT scan that revealed a brain tumor. Surgery is scheduled for May 15. We’re taking it one step at a time— holding tightly to faith and to Jax’s strength.
