The Wolfpack is excited to welcome Ms. Leverett into her new role as a first-grade teacher at Gem Prep Meridian North!

Born in Idaho and raised in Northern California, Ms. Leverett earned her first bachelor's degree in Kinesiology and Exercise Science from Humboldt State University before returning to Boise to work as a swim instructor and personal trainer at the YMCA. She later followed her passion for education, earning a second bachelor's degree in Early Childhood and Special Education from Boise State University.

After teaching preschool and kindergarten in North Carolina, she returned to Boise in 2018 with her daughter. For the past five years, she has been a beloved kindergarten teacher at Gem Prep Meridian North, and this year she is thrilled to begin an exciting new chapter in first grade. She can't wait to continue learning and growing alongside many of the scholars she had the joy of teaching in kindergarten.

When she's not in the classroom, Ms. Leverett enjoys reading, exploring nature, painting, gardening, and spending time with her daughter and their two cats.

Ms. Leverett is passionate about creating meaningful learning experiences that spark curiosity, build confidence, and inspire a lifelong love of learning. We are so excited to see the impact she will continue to make and know our first-grade scholars are in for an incredible year. Welcome to first grade, Ms. Leverett!

Please join us in welcoming Sophie Morgan to the Wolfpack family! Sophie will be teaching Middle School English for the 26-27 school year and is excited to begin her journey with our scholars.

Sophie recently graduated from Boise State University. During her final year, she had the opportunity to complete her student teaching experience under Mr. Siman, GPMN’s high school English teacher. During that time, she quickly fell in love with the Wolfpack community and enjoyed watching scholars grow, learn, and thrive in the classroom. She is grateful for the opportunity to continue serving the scholars and families of Gem Prep Meridian North.

Teaching allows Sophie to combine two of her greatest passions: working with students and sharing her love of English. Throughout high school and college, she worked as both an English and math tutor, helping students build skills and confidence. For the past three summers, she has served as a camp counselor for students of all ages. These experiences have strengthened her commitment to helping young people learn, grow, and reach their full potential.

As she begins the school year, Sophie’s goal is to build meaningful relationships with her scholars, challenge them to achieve academic success, and create a classroom environment where every scholar feels supported, engaged, and valued. She hopes her students will not only grow as readers and writers but also develop a lifelong appreciation for the power of language and literature.

Sophie is looking forward to an amazing year with the Wolfpack and cannot wait to meet her scholars and families. Welcome to the Pack!

Please join us in welcoming Debra Spencer to the Wolfpack family as our new Kindergarten Teacher!

Debra earned her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from Brigham Young University in 2009. While attending BYU, she met her husband, Russ, and this year they celebrated an incredible milestone, 20 years of marriage! Together, they have five wonderful children who have brought joy, adventure, and plenty of learning opportunities into their lives.

After graduating, Debra spent 12 years as a stay-at-home mom, putting her education degree into working in one of the most important classrooms of all, her home. In 2021, she returned to the field of education and has since taught both kindergarten and middle school students. Her experiences as both a parent and educator have strengthened her passion for helping young people learn, grow, and succeed.

When she is not busy teaching or caring for her family, Debra enjoys a variety of creative hobbies, including reading, sewing, crocheting, knitting, and gardening. She describes herself as a cozy grandma trapped in a cool mom’s body and has a special soft spot for all things tiny, fluffy, and adorable, especially her beloved cat and dog. She is always eager to learn new skills and finds great joy in watching students discover new ideas and build confidence in themselves.

Debra is excited to be part of the Wolfpack community and looks forward to partnering with scholars and families to create a year filled with learning, growth, and success. Welcome to the Pack, Mrs. Spencer!

Gem Prep-North is excited to welcome Corey to the Secondary team as the middle school history teacher. The 2026–2027 school year marks Corey’s sixth year in education, and he is especially excited to take on the new challenge of teaching middle school students.

Corey earned a degree in Psychology from Utah Valley University and is grateful for the opportunity to share his passion for learning and history with students.

Outside the classroom, Corey enjoys taking advantage of Idaho’s incredible outdoor recreation opportunities. He is also an avid sports enthusiast and can often be found either watching or participating in a variety of sports.

A fun fact about Corey is that ancient history is his favorite subject. His love for the topic was inspired by several outstanding teachers he had growing up, and he hopes to bring that same enthusiasm and inspiration to Gem Prep scholars.
