Our FREE Merced United Basketball Academy for 4–5 year olds starts Saturday, November 8 at Stone Ridge Christian School Gym (2738 Don Ward Rd, Merced, CA) and continues on Nov. 22, 29, and Dec. 13 from 2:00–3:30 PM.

Led by Coach Tyler Rogers, Stone Ridge’s Athletic Director and Head Men’s Basketball Coach -4x CIF Section Champion and 4x Coach of the Year- this academy helps young players build confidence, coordination, and community through fun, active play. Parents are part of the action too!

Funded by First 5 Merced County, this is a perfect way to introduce your child to basketball while learning together.

We had so much fun learning about cucumbers today. We will continue to explore this veggie for the month of September. Our students made cucumber stackers and read a book about Kevin the cucumber.

Today we celebrated Mexican Independence Day. Our little ones will continue to learn about culture throughout the year.

Weaver USD at First 5 Merced Children’s Summit

Please help us congratulate Mrs. Xiong as Merced County Preschool Teacher of the Year. As the MCOE Excellence in Education Preschool Teacher of the Year, Mrs. Xiong continues to provide the highest quality education for our youngest scholars.

My Xiong has been with Weaver USD for 29 years. A parent described her as “an exemplary educator in every sense.” She shows up to work with compassion for her students and families.

Mrs. Xiong believes in giving children opportunity through hands-on experiences. Her science lessons in the classroom will shape our future. Another parent stated, “The community is impacted by her because the children’s education revolves around how we should treat each other and treat our planet with kindness and respect.” From incubating eggs to planting fruit trees, everything she does is with intention and love for our kids. We thank Mrs. Xiong for her endless commitment to our district and students.
