Hampden Estate Rum hit a home run with the Strong Waters Rum Society! David D**g gave us a Rum 101 class teaching what makes a rum great! Thanks to David and PM Spirits for an inspired tasting session. Cheers! The Spot on Main delivered another spread over and above our expectations including Mango Pepper Chicken Meatballs and Bacon Wrapped Wagyu Beef. Our meetings are a steal at $20 for the food alone.....add in the free rum and great company making this a slam dunk Thursday evening!
Sara Wilkowski will be leading the next meeting on Puerto Rican Rums. We hope to see all of you in November 19th.

Another fun time at the Strong Waters Rum Society meeting at The Spot on Main. Probitas Rum was a hit! Elina Malkin delivered a tasting tour through the Probitas Rum, R.L. Seale and Foursquare Rum USA expressions. The Spot on Main created an excellent pairing of Jerk Chicken Skewers, Coconut Rice with Scallions, Mango Black Bean Salad, Roasted Marinated Pineapple, Hawaiian Rolls, Key Lime Bars and Plantain Chips. We appreciate this level of service that Tiff and Scott give us every meeting. Join us for our next meeting on Sept 17. Cheers!

THE TWENTY SEVENTY SWIZZLE crafted by Ma Hu and featuring the mighty Lemon Hart 151 💥

"Tonight’s drink was another visit to Smuggler's Cove with Martin Cate’s Twenty Seventy Swizzle.

The Twenty Seventy Swizzle is a great example of how much character can come from a seemingly simple recipe. Demerara syrup, honey syrup, and allspice dram create a rich, spicy foundation, while fresh lime juice provides brightness and balance.

For the rum blend, I used Havana Club Selección de Maestros and Lemon Hart 151. The Havana contributes notes of vanilla, oak, and dried fruit, while the Lemon Hart brings bold Demerara character and the extra punch that gives the drink its backbone. A dash Ice-cold, deeply aromatic, spicy, and surprisingly well balanced, this is an outstanding example of the Swizzle style.

15 ml fresh lime juice
15 ml Demerara syrup – homemade
15 ml honey syrup – homemade
7.5 ml allspice dram – homemade
30 ml column still aged rum – Havana Club Deutschland
Selección de Maestros
30 ml black blended overproof rum – Lemon Hart Rum
Lemon Hart 151
1 dash Herbstura
Freshly grated nutmeg

Swizzle with crushed ice directly in the glass until well chilled and frosted. Top with additional crushed ice and garnish with fresh mint."
