Our CBU psychology students took the stage at the Mid-South Psychology Conference at the University of Tennessee - Martin in April, and they delivered! 🎉

Congratulations to Ellie Carico, Daniel Carson, Jose Crisanto, Kamren Moore, Andrea Morales, DeeDee Natividad, Jackelin Ruiz, Gamaliel Quinones, Wendy Lopez, Elise Stiegemeyer, Karina Esquivel, Nima Hasan, and Rachel Johnson for representing CBU with excellence. A huge thank you to faculty mentors Dr. Maureen O'Brien and Dr. Colby Taylor for guiding these students every step of the way.

Math, meet Alabama. 📐✨

Our CBU math majors brought their A-game to the Southeast Section of the Mathematical Association of America's Spring Break Meeting in Florence, Ala. last March and made us proud.
Big shoutout to Cooper Broughton, Johnny Brouillard, and Phuoc Thien-Phung, who presented at the conference. Joining them in representing CBU were Zack Abdirashid, Angelina Alvarez, Garret Howard, and Will Pelham.
And our Jeopardy! Team? They swept their division in the preliminary and semi-final rounds and brought home 3rd place out of 26 teams, medals and all. 🥉

Way to represent, Bucs!

Today, the CBU community pauses to remember and honor the men and women who gave their lives in service to our country. Their courage and sacrifice reflect the deepest expressions of our Lasallian values, respect for every person, faith in the presence of God, and a steadfast commitment to a more just and peaceful world. We hold their families, loved ones, and fellow service members in our prayers. May we never forget.

Wilson, a two-time CBU alum and member of our Office of Student Affairs team, just earned his MBA. But because he was the one running this year's commencement ceremony, he chose not to receive it on stage.
So our team made sure he didn't miss his moment.
What Wilson thought was an ordinary day turned into a surprise ceremony of his own when Brother Chris showed up to present him with his diploma, with his colleagues cheering him on.
That's the Lasallian spirit. Congratulations, Wilson. 🎓

The future you is closer than you think.

Christian Brothers University | CBU | Memphis, Tennessee Christian Brothers University is a Catholic university in the student-centered tradition of the De La Salle Christian Brothers, fostering academic excellence.

For years, this beautiful wooden statue carved by Thuy Nguyen in 2003 has been a meaningful part of the chapel at Christian Brothers University.

Originally from Vietnam, Thuy immigrated to the United States with his family in 1990 through Catholic Charities and later worked in maintenance at Christian Brothers High School. His story – and craftsmanship – continue to inspire our Lasallian community.

The statue also reflects a lasting family connection to CBU and CBHS, as Thuy’s youngest son attended both schools. We’re grateful for the legacy and faith represented through this special work of art.
