Civil Rights History Tour UMD students, staff, and faculty will travel to Nashville, TN, Selma, AL, Montgomery, AL, Memphis, TN, Jackson, MS, Lexington, MS, and St. Louis, MO.

UMD students, staff, and faculty will travel to Nashville, TN, Selma, AL, Montgomery, AL, Memphis, TN, Jackson, MS, Lexington, MS, St. Louis, MO, for Spring Break, from March 3-12, 2017

Tennessee, Alabama, Mississippi, and Missouri played instrumental roles in the African American Civil Rights movement. This trip will take UMD students, East High School students, Denfeld High School students, fa

culty, and staff on a tour of historical sites and many stops where they will perform for schools and community groups. The approximate makeup includes 23 UMD students, 3 Duluth High School students, 11 UMD faculty, staff and community leaders, 2 Duluth High School staff. Total 39 people. Walking in the Footsteps of Civil Rights Leaders

19 UMD students traveled to Mississippi, Alabama and Tennessee in spring 2017 to meet civil rights leaders and hear the stories of the courageous men and women who changed our country. They will show videos and share their reflections.

A group of students at the University of Minnesota Duluth could've spent spring break doing what so many other college students do -- partying. They had bigger goals. They wanted to learn more about the history of civil rights in America.
