Laverne brings over 12 years of Athletic Director and Coaching experience from Shelby County Schools and years of youth mentorship. We are excited to have such expertise in our midst!

Renaissance Mentoring connects youth with experienced and caring adults who encourage positive choices and interactions. Mentors must pass a criminal background check and commit eight hours per month for 12 months. Mentors and scholars meet 1st, 3rd and 5th week of each month on.

* Male Scholars meets on Tuesday
* Female Scholars meets on Thursday

Renaissance Mentoring Program meets at the Youth Academy of Dreams, located at 3350 N Trezevant Street, The program offers scholars grades 6-12 skills in etiquette, character, and leadership which contribute to a lifetime of success.

The program is presented by the National Association of Police Athletic/Activities Leagues, Shelby County Sheriff's Office, Memphis City Employees Credit Union, Memphis Shelby County Schools, Memphis Parks, and the Memphis Grizzlies Foundation.
