๐Ÿง A heartwarming surprise: During January's inclement weather, first-year student Lu Benedetto McNulty's eighteenth birthday was almost iced out when the birthday cupcakes her mother shipped with love from Washington D.C.'s Georgetown Cupcake got stuck in the campus mailroom. Rhodes College Campus Safety made the day sweeter by hand-delivering the cupcakes to her hotel room! ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

"This is the kind of community I looked forward to when I chose Rhodes," says McNulty. ๐Ÿ’•โœจ

Zoey Ragan's journey is one of a kind, having lived in six different countries and attending schools across the world, including in Zambia, North Korea (the only American to do so), Nepal, Costa Rica, and more.

With both parents involved in international politics and a father who was a senior staff member with the United Nations, Zoey's life was filled with unique experiences that have shaped her into the person she is today.

Ragan searched for a college that would help her achieve her goals, and her mother discovered Rhodes in the college search book Colleges That Changed Lives. Rhodes turned out to be the right choice for her.

"I guess I never had a place I could call home because I grew up all over the place. It was time to figure out my history, my roots, my family, and come to the South," Ragan says. โ€œFor me, it's the fact that Rhodes is such a tight-knit communityโ€”we all take care of each other. It reminds me a lot of the international schools I grew up in, because they were a community in themselves."
