Hard work, personal growth, and determination brought the Class of 2026 to this moment, but a few stand out for everything they poured into their time at CBHS.
Elliott Cary and Lance Lim led the class academically as Valedictorian and Salutatorian. And these award recipients embodied the very best of what it means to be a Brothers’ Boy:
Brother Adrian Powers Award - Will Fogerty, for outstanding academic improvement
Brother J. Stephen O’Malley Award - Austin Lepchitz, for honor, courage, scholarship, leadership, and service
Signum Fidei Award - Tread Kiser, for steadfast determination and unyielding courage
Dr. Ralph G. Hale Award - Ben Armada, for excellence in music
Tom Nix Award - BJ Brown, for excellence as a student-athlete
Jesse Turner, Jr. Award (presented at Baccalaureate) - Darnell Rainey, for excellence, courage, integrity, and leadership
Join us in congratulating these extraordinary young men.

B-R-O-T-H-E-R-S, Brothers!
This season delivered and then some with two regional championship titles in soccer and baseball, school records broken in track and field, and individual titles brought home by some of the best student-athletes in the state.
But we're not done yet, folks! All three programs have punched their tickets to Spring Fling. It's no surprise CBHS is ranked #1 for Athletics in the Memphis area and #2 in all of Tennessee.

Nearly 1.4 million students sit for the ACT each year. The national average score? 19.4. A 30 puts you in the top 6%. A 35 puts you in the top 1%. A perfect 36? Just 0.22% of all test-takers. Preston Cornell '27 is one of them. Way to go, Brother!

The James Preston Coleman Faculty Award for Excellence is given each year to two educators who exemplify excellence, demonstrate care and concern for their students and Christian Brothers High School, and go the extra mile in touching hearts and teaching minds.
This year's recipients, with a combined 57 years of service to CBHS, embody that standard in every way: Religion and Ethics teacher Gerry Taulman and Director of Technology Marcello Donato '94.
Ms. Taulman's students learn to approach other faiths with empathy and understanding, ultimately leaving her classroom with a deeper appreciation of their own, but her impact stretches far beyond the classroom. She's the driving force behind our school blood drives, mission collections, and clothing drives supporting local faith-based nonprofits, among countless other selfless initiatives. If there's an opportunity to serve, Ms. Taulman is there, and she's bringing students with her.
Mr. Donato may not teach in front of a classroom, but his fingerprints are on every learning experience at CBHS. He leads a team of wizards dedicated to optimizing the tools and systems that power education across campus, and he's constantly offering continuing education and professional development opportunities to our faculty and staff. It's his even-tempered nature and tireless willingness to step in with a solution that truly set him apart. Whether the challenge is big or small, Marcello shows up every single time.
Very few people in the history of CBHS have impacted more lives than Ms. Taulman and Mr. Donato. Their contributions to this school are irreplaceable, and we are proud to celebrate them with this well-deserved honor.

Service-driven. Solution-finder. Built different.
Dylan Pogue '26 leaves things better than he finds them. That's just who he is. At school, he may flag a problem with a teacher or administrator that he comes across, but he shows up with a solution already in hand. Across the greater community, he's led our Interact Club through service project after service project this year, most recently packing 10,000+ meals with the Memphis Rotary Club... for the second time.
Just last month, Dylan was named Interactor of the Year AND a Paul Harris Fellow, one of highest honors a Rotary can bestow. For a high school student to earn that recognition says everything.
Brothers' Boys lead. Dylan sets the standard.

Every Eagle Scout deserves his moment, and Spencer Higley '27 and James Vollmar '29 have earned theirs. They've joined the short list of young men who reach Scouting's highest honor, a milestone built on leadership, service, and the follow-through that defines a Brother. Congratulations, gentlemen!
