Executive Associate Dean of Academic Affairs Bobby Bellflower, DNSc, NNP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, FNAP, has been selected to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the National Association of Neonatal Nurses (NANN). She will be honored during NANN’s 42nd Annual Conference in West Palm Beach, FL, which will be held Sept. 15-18.

The award honors a neonatal nurse whose research has contributed to the advancement of neonatal nursing practice, has worked to improve the quality of neonatal care, has participated in the publication of materials that have made an impact on neonatal nursing, or has demonstrated outstanding initiative in advancing the education of colleagues, patients, and the public.

Dr. Bellflower earned her master of science in nursing (MSN) and her doctor of nursing science (DNSc) degrees from UT Health Sciences. As a faculty member, she led the neonatal nursing concentration from 1999-2012. She returned in 2016 to lead the doctor of nursing practice (DNP) program and was promoted to assistant dean of graduate programs in 2024. This July, she became executive associate dean of academic affairs for the college, after holding that position for nearly a year on an interim basis. In addition to her academic leadership, Dr. Bellflower also has held leadership positions in her area of specialty, including serving as chair of the National Association of Neonatal Nurses and Nurse Practitioners from October 2020 - October 2022.
