In today’s society, many areas of knowledge are being neglected in many school systems, and science is one of them. With the continuous motion of everyday living and time, we eat, breathe, sleep, and live science. The purpose of the science and hip-hop movement is to take new tactics from the *New Normal* and combine science content with vibrant rhythms of hip-hop to make students engage in scienc
e more. This movement is an initiative that promotes scientific concepts to help influence students by the means of hip-hop and rhythmic patterns. This will create awareness of science as a pivotal subject in schools and in life. Within this movement, the primary focus is to create an innovative instructional tool to help students grasp educational terminology, concepts, and formulas in science. The cd will be able to provide the material in a way that relates to students of all ages. The material will be delivered via hip-hop verses that relate the concepts to everyday living, which will allow the students to have a more personal vision of the material. In addition, for classroom instruction, students are able to take their own scientific topic and create their own interpretation that will help them understand further more. Science & Hip-Hop Objective
-Create and produce a audio cd, which expresses the simple concepts of science combined with hip-hop.
-Travel to different schools and universities to demonstrate instructional techniques to incorporate science and hip-hop in the classroom.
-Offer and apply minor science and hip-hop lessons into ‘willing’ classrooms, as a trial, to see if students grasp the concept and adapt.
