Today we honor the brave individuals whose sacrifice made our freedoms possible. As we gather with family and loved ones, may we also take time to reflect, remember, and express gratitude for those who gave everything in service to our nation. 🇺🇸 🫡

April is recognized as Autism Awareness Month. Let’s be clear, awareness alone is not enough.
Awareness acknowledges.
Advocacy changes outcomes.
Action creates access.
Every child deserves more than a seat in the classroom, they deserve meaningful inclusion, appropriate supports, and systems that are responsive to their needs.
At Alston Advocacy & Consulting, this work is about more than compliance. It’s about ensuring families are informed, empowered, and positioned to make decisions that truly support their child’s growth and success.
This month, I challenge you to move with intention:
✔️ Ask the right questions
✔️ Understand your child’s rights
✔️ Advocate with clarity and confidence
Because when we shift barriers, we create pathways.

Yesterday we celebrated the women who lead, advocate, nurture, challenge systems, and create pathways where barriers once stood. Today and everyday we continue the work.
Advocacy is not quiet work. It takes courage, persistence, and a willingness to speak when others remain silent.
I am grateful to stand alongside women who are doing the work every day, for families, for communities, and for the next generation.
Happy International Women’s Day!

✊🏽🖤 Black history is not confined to February. We reflect, we honor, and we continue the work—advocating, educating, and building pathways forward every day.

NashVegas owes me nothing.
Not a spotlight.
Not a stage.
Not a single opportunity.
Because when you understand your calling, you don’t enter rooms expecting to be served — you enter ready to serve, to listen, to learn, and to connect.
You truly never know when and where you are called. Sometimes it’s not about the microphone. Sometimes it’s about proximity. Alignment. Preparation. Presence.
This week was a reminder that purpose doesn’t always announce itself loudly. Sometimes it simply places you in the room — surrounded by an abundance of connections, conversations, brilliance, and possibility — and trusts that you’ll recognize the assignment.
And what an honor it was to be in that room.
Grateful for the energy.
Grateful for the relationships.
Grateful for the reminder that when you walk in your purpose, every room becomes meaningful.
Onward.

🖤✨ Black History Month from Alston Advocacy & Consulting
Black history is not a chapter.
It is the foundation.
It is innovation, resistance, brilliance, culture, leadership, and yes… advocacy.
At Alston Advocacy & Consulting, we don’t just celebrate history.
We honor it by continuing the work.
Because equity doesn’t happen by accident.
Access isn’t optional.
And opportunity should never depend on who knows the system best.
This month—and every month—we remain committed to:
✔ breaking barriers in special education
✔ protecting student and family voice
✔ strengthening systems through compliance, collaboration, and courage
We are still building the pathway.
And we’re bringing families with us.
Shifting Barriers into Pathways to Success.
