Today, many believe bringing back these programs could open doors for students who thrive outside the traditional classroom — creating opportunities, reducing debt, and strengthening the future workforce. Others say education has evolved and needs to balance both technical skills and modern academics.

Anyone shaping education policy should be required to spend real time inside a classroom—not for a quick visit, not for a headline, but for the full experience.

Sit in those chairs. Lead those students. Deal with the distractions, the pressure, the expectations, and the limited support teachers face every single day.

It’s easy to write rules when you’re far from their impact. It’s much harder when you’re standing in front of 25 students, trying to hold their focus while juggling multiple responsibilities at once.

If the people creating the policies had to live under them, even briefly, many of those decisions would look different by the next morning.

Education isn’t an abstract idea—it’s hands-on, real-time work. And it deserves choices made by those who truly understand what it demands.
