I’m really excited to be partnering with Milwaukee Rec to teach piano for free to students 12-18! This has been a goal of mine to get more Milwaukee youth involved in music 💗 !! First date to start is this Saturday - Valentine’s Day!

I have talked for years about getting students free lessons and so happy to begin this path!

Are you in middle or high school and want to learn to play the piano? 🎹🎶

Award-winning pianist Jazmin Wong is offering FREE one-on-one piano lessons to students ages 12-18 as part of Milwaukee Recreation's Twilight Centers program at South Division High School!

Lessons are first-come, first-served from 6-9 p.m. on the following Saturdays:
February 14 and 28
March 7
April 11 and 25
May 2, 9, and 16
June 6 and 13

The Music Alumni Reunion is next week! Thursday's concert will feature the world premiere of a new composition by David Packa, '16, titled "Near the Shores." Text for the piece was written by Jade Marielan, '17, and Red Cliff Band of Lake Superior Chippewa member, Jess Van Wert, '17, provided Anishinaabemowin translations. It will be performed by the UWS Chorale with David at the piano.

So excited to receive, “Weaving Sounds” Elementary Piano Pieces by Native and Indigenous Composers from the Frances Clark Center!

Excited to teach my students from this book where they will learn traditions - stories and songs about, the three sisters (corn, beans and squash), cradleboard songs, snow baths and more.

“Weaving Sounds is a collection of beginner piano repertoire written by the vibrant and diverse voices of Native and Indigenous composers from the Diné, Mohawk, Anishinaabe, Cree, Blackfoot, Jicarilla Apache, Choctaw, and Mohican communities. Each piece is a unique expression of the composers’ cultural roots and personal artistry, offering a tapestry of sounds that are both accessible to beginners and deeply meaningful.”

Thank you for my students for allowing me to inspire, teach and continue my passion for piano in 2025! In 2024 I moved studio locations and purchased a 1942 Steinway Baby Grand S with Ivory keys thanks to my hard work and dedication, my parents' help, and a deal of a lifetime from Barb Wanless Owner of Steinway Piano Gallery.

Here are some highlights of 2024

*With a donation Jazmin was able to give a deserving student a two-month scholarship. Jazmin has high hopes that students that are financially disadvantaged can continue to receive scholarships through private funding and generous donations from supporters, friends and family! *11/12 students got perfect scores at WMTA competition and one student receiving a 4/5 score

*Jazmin Performed alongside live poets at Rabbit, Bird & Bear: Fine Art & Gifts

*Students participated in Milwaukee Winter Farmers Market Xmas Concert

*Jazmin now has her own business location at 2360 N 124th St Studio 30 lower level

*Within two years of teaching in Milwaukee four youth students are at the early/intermediate stages of their playing
