This is more than classroom activities or therapy sessions.

It’s access. ✨

For Harlow, communication doesn't happen only when she is working with her speech therapist. Movement doesn't happen only during PT. Positioning isn't something we think about only during therapy. Sensory integration isn't separate from education. It all works together.

Throughout her day, Harlow is:
💬 Communicating with her Tobii Dynavox eye gaze device
🧍‍♀️ Working on positioning and movement
🧠 Building sensory and cognitive skills
📚 Participating in academic and life-skills lessons
🤝 Learning alongside her classmates
🎯 Having access to her communication in different positions and environments

The goal isn't simply to give a student a communication device. The goal is to create access to communication, learning, movement, connection, and choice throughout their entire day.

And then comes the moment that says it all: “My name is Harlow.” ❤️

That's not just a sentence. That's a student telling us who she is, and having the access to make sure we can hear her.

“What does this student need in this moment to access what we're asking them to do?”

Sometimes that means changing position.

Not because one position is “better” than another, but because different positions can create different opportunities for:
🧠 Engagement
👐 Movement and interaction
👀 Visual access
💬 Communication
📚 Participation in learning

And this is where therapy and education can meet. What if the knowledge we use in therapy could also help us think differently about how a student accesses the classroom?

Positioning can be more than a therapeutic intervention. It can be a tool for creating access.

That's Therapeutic Education.

What if the problem isn't that therapy is happening in schools, but that we're still thinking about therapy in separate boxes?

❌ At No Limits Academy, we believe the question shouldn't simply be:
“Is this therapy educationally relevant?”

✅ The bigger question is:
“What does this child need in order to access their education?”

A student may need communication support, positioning, movement, sensory input, assistive technology, or other therapeutic strategies in order to meaningfully participate in learning. When those needs are separated from the educational environment, we can lose valuable opportunities for carryover.

Teachers understand education. Therapists understand their clinical disciplines. But children need those areas of expertise to come together.

That transfer of information, and knowing how to apply it within the classroom, is at the heart of the No Limits Method.
Because when professionals understand one another's roles and work toward the same goal, we're not simply providing services. We're creating access to education.

Therapy in the classroom should be more than a checklist. 👏

“Have the student use this pencil for X minutes.”
“Do this exercise three times a day.”
“Practice this skill during the school day.”
Those directives may be important, but what happens next matters.

At No Limits Academy, our teachers and therapists work together to figure out what those recommendations actually look like within the context of the classroom.

That can mean:
✨ Moving the body during a lesson
✨ Using sensory experiences to bring learning to life
✨ Building communication into real classroom activities
✨ Programming communication devices around what students are actually doing
✨ Adapting lessons so therapeutic needs and educational goals work together, not separately

The therapist understands the therapy.

At first glance, this looks like an ELA lesson on pronouns.

But look a little closer. 👀

Students aren't memorizing definitions or filling out worksheets. They're talking about their classroom, their teachers, and their classmates. They're using their Tobii Dynavox eye gaze devices to answer questions, listening to one another's ideas, and learning that words like I, you, we, and our, help us describe the people and relationships around us.

One of our favorite moments? When Cadence answered "we" instead of "our." Rather than simply saying “that's incorrect” Miss Gayle celebrated her thinking, acknowledged that she answered the question, and guided the class to discover why "our class" fits the sentence best.

That's the kind of learning we want our students to experience. Meaningful education isn't about avoiding mistakes, it's about creating a safe environment where students can think, communicate, problem-solve, and grow with confidence.

At No Limits Academy, grammar becomes more than an English lesson. It's an opportunity to build communication, language, social understanding, and connection through real-life experiences.

One of our core values from the No Limits Method is Choice.

Sometimes that means choosing an answer during a lesson. Sometimes it means choosing where to sit. And sometimes it means looking your teacher dead in the eye and saying "cringy" with his Tobii Dynavox eye gaze. 😂

The best part? No one told him what to say. No one selected it for him. He chose it.
That's what authentic communication looks like.

AAC isn't just about requesting a snack or answering academic questions. It's about expressing opinions, showing humor, building relationships, and letting personality shine.

Communication isn't limited to certain times of the day. It's embedded into every lesson, every transition, and every interaction because every student deserves the opportunity to say exactly what's on their mind, even if it's a bit sassy. 💙

Teachers don't go into special education because they don't care.

They go into it because they want to change lives.

But passion alone isn't enough.

Kristin, Principal of No Limits Academy, reflects on her experience as a teacher in public schools, wanting her students to succeed, but often feeling like she was spending more time trying to figure out how to teach than actually teaching.

At No Limits Academy, we've learned that supporting students starts with supporting the people who teach them.
Instead of teachers and therapists working in separate silos, they work together. Physical therapists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, teachers, teaching assistants, and administrators collaborate so everyone understands the why behind each strategy, not just what to do.

When teachers understand a student's diagnosis, therapy goals, communication needs, positioning, and accommodations, they're able to build those supports naturally into every lesson.

That's the heart of the No Limits Method.

It's not about asking teachers to do more. It's about giving them the knowledge, training, and collaborative support they need to help every student access their education.

As our nation celebrates 250 years of freedom, we're reminded that one of the greatest freedoms we can protect is the opportunity for every child to learn in a way that allows them to thrive.

That's why we traveled to Washington, D.C.

We had the privilege of meeting with elected leaders to share the vision behind No Limits Academy, Ability Plus Therapy, and the No Limits Method —a vision where students with complex disabilities have access to an education that integrates communication, movement, therapeutic supports, and meaningful learning from the very beginning.

Real, lasting disability policy begins in K–12 education.

When children receive therapeutic education early, they develop the skills, confidence, communication, and independence that lead to stronger lifelong outcomes. If we want better outcomes for adults with disabilities, we must first invest in children.

Thank you to Congressman Mike Haridopolos, Senator Ashley Moody, Congressman Gus Bilirakis, and the many federal leaders who took the time to listen, ask questions, and engage in conversations about the future of therapeutic education. We appreciate your willingness to explore new ideas that have the potential to strengthen families, support educators, and improve outcomes for students with complex disabilities.

The work continues, but so does our hope.

Because every child deserves the freedom to communicate, to learn, and to reach their full potential.

The first week of school isn't just about learning classroom routines.

It's about learning about each other.

In Miss Jordyn's classroom, students spent ELA getting to know their classmates by answering questions about themselves using their Tobii Dynavox eye gaze AAC devices. These simple questions became meaningful opportunities to communicate, listen, recall information, and connect with one another.

Along the way, students practiced so much more than academics:
💙 Using AAC to answer questions independently
💙 Listening while classmates shared
💙 Taking turns in conversation
💙 Building confidence through encouragement
💙 Strengthening social connections from day one

Notice something else? There was no pressure to be perfect. When a student needed a little extra support or answered incorrectly, the focus stayed on learning, trying again, and celebrating progress.

That's what meaningful education looks like.
Because communication isn't a separate lesson, it's woven into everything we do.

"Yuck. Ew." 🤣🫐

One little message changed everything.

A student at No Limits Academy kept telling Miss Savannah she didn't like the blueberry yogurt her mom packed every day. Instead of assuming she was just pressing buttons, her teachers listened. They honored her communication and shared it with Mom.

The next day? Different yogurt.

Instead of "Don't like," she said… "Yum!"

That simple interaction became so much more than a conversation about lunch. It became proof that her words mattered.

When communication is available throughout the entire day, not just during speech therapy, students don't just answer questions. They share opinions. They make choices. They joke. They express preferences. They build relationships. They show the world who they are.

That's when personalities begin to shine. ✨

Communication isn't just about requesting a snack or asking for a break.
It's about being seen.
It's about being heard.
It's about dignity.
It's about having a voice that people respect.

Because every child deserves to know that what they have to say matters. 💙
