Surtax funding supports a range of physical security improvements across Brevard Public Schools. This is not a new tax. The Sales Surtax is a renewal of the existing half-cent sales tax that helps fund safe, maintained, and modern school facilities.
These investments include secure single-point entry, upgraded locks and gates, reinforced front office safety features, expanded security camera coverage, and modern emergency alert systems.
Every visitor entering a school is directed through the front office for check-in, helping schools monitor access and maintain secure learning environments.
These upgrades create safer entrances, give schools greater visibility across the property, and make it possible to respond quickly in an emergency.
Surtax helps ensure schools have the safety infrastructure needed to help protect students and staff.
