Augustine said it best, “How you view God determines how you view your fellow man; how you view your fellow man will determine the government you will have, and it is that government who will determine whether you will live in freedom or bondage.” The separation between Church and State has always been a lie. Government should never influence religious faith; but historically, the influence of Bib

This video, titled *The Envious and the Ordained* (0:16), features Pastor *Rob McNutt* delivering a sermon based on *Acts 13:42-52* at *Faith Bible Church*. The message focuses on how different groups responded to the gospel message and emphasizes the significance of being 'ordained' or 'appointed' by God to eternal life.

**Key themes and takeaways include:**

* **The Power of the Gospel:**

The sermon highlights that the message of salvation through *Jesus* is for everyone—not just the Jewish people—and requires only the act of believing (11:21-11:33).

* **The Sin of Envy:** Pastor *McNutt* explains how the Jewish leaders in the synagogue were filled with envy because the 'whole city' turned out to hear *Paul* and *Barnabas*, threatening their own influence and status (15:48-18:00). He describes envy as a heart-level sin that corrodes love and can lead to destructive actions (17:29-18:25). We also see this creeping in through destructive actions and ideologies today.

* **The Concept of 'Ordained' (Tasso):**

A central focus of the sermon is the group described in *Acts 13:48* as those 'appointed' or 'ordained' to eternal life. Pastor *McNutt* clarifies that this is the most prestigious category anyone can belong to, granted by God’s authority rather than by human merit, status, or background (26:02-27:35).

* **Exclusive vs. Inclusive:**

While the invitation to salvation is inclusive (for all tribes and nations), it is also exclusive in that it requires belief in *Jesus* as the Son of God (30:52-32:23).

**Historical and Practical Context:**

* The sermon touches on the biblical practice of 'shaking dust off one's feet' as a sign of moving on after being rejected, used by *Paul* and *Barnabas* when they were expelled from the region (35:15-36:12).

* Pastor *McNutt* uses relatable, modern-day examples—such as shopping at *Old Navy* (0:21-3:15) and understanding store membership apps (11:35-12:44)—to contrast societal categorization with God’s singular criterion for salvation: belief.

Critics said creating light before the sun was a scientific error. Modern physics says otherwise.

Genesis 1:3 records God's first creative act — let there be light. And there was light. The sun, moon and stars do not appear until the fourth day of the creation narrative, in Genesis 1:14-19.

From the perspective of ancient readers and early modern critics alike, this sequence seemed backwards. Light comes from the sun. If there is no sun, there is no light. Creating light before creating the sun appeared to be either poetic licence or simple scientific error — evidence that Genesis was theological narrative rather than any kind of reliable description of physical reality.

Modern cosmology has arrived at a different picture.

In the standard cosmological model, the universe began approximately 13.8 billion years ago in an event of extraordinary energy. For the first few hundred thousand years the universe was so hot and dense that it was opaque — energy existed but light as we know it could not travel freely.

Then, approximately 380,000 years after the beginning, the universe cooled enough for electrons and protons to combine into neutral hydrogen atoms. At that moment the universe became transparent for the first time — and light, in the form of electromagnetic radiation, flooded through it. This event, known to physicists as recombination, produced what scientists call the Cosmic Microwave Background — the faint glow of that first light that still permeates the universe and which modern telescopes can detect.

Stars did not form for hundreds of millions of years after that.

Light before stars. Electromagnetic radiation before the sun. Not as a theological metaphor but as a description of the physical sequence modern cosmology has established.

Genesis recorded the sequence correctly.

The Republican Central Committee has completed the process of interviewing candidates and selecting our nominee. Congratulations to Roy Alvey who was selected to fill the vacancy of Tom Jarboe. It is time to unite and work to get our candidates elected in November!

“In Hamtramck, the first Muslim-majority city in America, an all-Muslim council just legalized backyard animal sacrifice.

The non-Muslim minority showed up to object.
They were outvoted.

This is not “diversity.”
The new majority rewrites the rules to reflect its own sacred practices, and the old norms become optional.

Local democracy just delivered a very clear message about who now owns the public square.”
