Garden update: look at her GROW. 🌱
New soil in the beds. Fresh wood chips down. Rock-lined pathways winding under the Discovery Tree. Squash seedlings already reaching, and the first flowers blooming in the sunshine.
Every bit of this happened because people shared what they had — time, tools, wheelbarrows, truckloads of chips and compost, and a whole lot of Sunday mornings. To every family and friend who’s gotten their hands dirty out here: thank you. You’re growing something special.
And those handprint pillars from years of Sierra Hills kids? They’ve watched this garden come back to life. The next chapter is going to be a good one. 💛

Meet Jenna, our Garden Coordinator. In her own words: “My skill is growing gardens that bring people together. I wouldn’t call myself an expert gardener…I’m just someone who loves getting my hands in the dirt and creating beautiful spaces. It’s been amazing to watch a simple idea blossom into a community project that so many families now help grow.”

And that’s the secret about Skills Share — it doesn’t have to be a “skill.” A passion counts. A thing you just love doing counts.
Sharing yours takes 3 steps: 1️⃣ Think of one thing you’re good at or love. 2️⃣ Tell us — 2 minutes on the form (link in comments!) or 30 seconds at Back to School Night. 3️⃣ We match you to something that fits your time — one afternoon or ongoing, your call.

Meet Katherine Katches. In her own words: “My skill is showing staff they’re appreciated and loved by setting up fun surprises throughout the year and feeding them on occasion!”

The owl surprises in the staff room, the breakfast spreads, the succulent table — that’s one parent’s superpower showing up for Sierra Hills. And we never would’ve known to ask if she hadn’t told us.

Meet your teachers, hug your friends (old and new!), swing by the PTC welcome tables, and celebrate the start of the year with a popsicle alongside Principal Pattiey. 💚
