Attention McLean ISD Families

Please help us keep classrooms focused and free from unnecessary distractions. Students should not bring toys, squishies, fidget toys, stuffed animals, trading items, or other non-instructional items to school unless the item has been specifically authorized by school personnel.

Beginning immediately, unauthorized items brought to school may be confiscated and held in the office for a parent or guardian to pick up. Repeated violations may result in additional consequences in accordance with district policy and the Student Code of Conduct.

We appreciate our families' help in keeping personal items at home so our students can remain focused on learning.

Mini Cheer is coming up this Saturday, August 22nd!

This is a reminder for students who have already signed up for Mini Cheer:

Drop-off will be at 10:00 AM at the New Gym. Please make sure your Mini Cheerleader wears shorts.

Lunch Pick-Up: 12:00–1:30 PM
Parent Showcase: 4:00 PM

We’re looking forward to a fun day of Mini Cheer and can’t wait for our families to see what their Mini Cheerleaders have learned at the 4:00 PM showcase!

Main Street in front of McLean Elementary will remain closed for the remainder of today and through tomorrow morning to give our Seniors’ Paws plenty of time to dry and allow them to finish this special tradition!

TODAY’S AFTERNOON PICKUP:
Families may pick up students at either:

4th & Main Street – in front of the New Gym
6th & Main Street – on the north side of the High School hallway

TOMORROW MORNING DROP-OFF:
Morning drop-off will take place on 6th Street, on the north side of McLean School. Students will still be able to access and enter through the main entrance.

We truly appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility, and support while our Seniors complete their Paws! It is exciting to see the Class of 2027 leave their mark on McLean, and we appreciate our families helping us make this special tradition possible!

Senior Paw Painting – Tuesday & Wednesday!

Our Class of 2027 Seniors will be continuing one of our favorite McLean traditions this week by painting their paws on Main Street in front of the Elementary School building!

The paw painting will now take place over two days:

Tuesday, August 18th – Seniors will begin by painting the white backgrounds for their paws during their scheduled class period.

Wednesday, August 19th – Seniors will begin adding the details to their individual paws first thing in the morning and will continue until they are finished. This will give their completed paws plenty of time to dry throughout the afternoon.

We would love for our Senior families to be part of this special tradition! Whether you would like to come watch, lend a hand with the painting, or simply support your Senior, all Senior families are welcome to join us.

We are excited to see the Class of 2027 leave their mark on Main Street!

McLean ISD is proud to celebrate our 2026 Accountability Rating of B (87), along with three Distinction Designations!

Accountability ratings are an important measure of our progress, but what makes us most proud is what these results represent—the growth of our students and the dedication of the teachers and staff who serve them each day.

We have continued to make meaningful progress from the 2024–2025 school year to the 2025–2026 school year, and that does not happen by accident. It takes students willing to work, teachers committed to their classrooms, staff members supporting our kids, and families and a community that believe in McLean ISD.

We celebrate this accomplishment while recognizing that our work continues. We will keep setting high expectations, supporting our students, and working together to move McLean ISD forward.

Congratulations to our students and staff. This progress belongs to you!

Tomorrow is the First Day of School!

McLean ISD families, we are excited to welcome our students back tomorrow and officially begin the 2026–2027 school year!

Thank you to everyone who came out to Meet the Teacher this evening! We loved seeing our Cubs and Tigers back on campus and appreciate our families taking the time to help us kick off the new school year.

Here are a few reminders to help our first morning go as smoothly as possible:

Main Entrance: The main entrance will open at 7:00 AM.

Breakfast: The cafeteria will begin serving breakfast at 7:00 AM.

PK–5 Students: Students in Pre-K through 5th Grade will report to the Activity Room or Breakfast, once the first bell rings at 7:35 they will report directly to their homeroom classrooms.

6th–12th Grade Students: Students will report to their 1st period class. First-period assignments will be posted in the Commons, and students will receive their full schedule in their 1st period classroom.

Pre-K & Kindergarten Families: For the first day of school only, Pre-K and Kindergarten parents may walk their children to their classrooms. Beginning Thursday, for the safety and security of our students and staff, parents will say their goodbyes at the entrance, and our staff will be ready to help students get where they need to go.

Schedule Changes: Schedule change requests will be evaluated by Mrs. Sorrells and Mr. Bromlow. All schedules will be considered final after Friday, August 21, and changes after that date will only be made under special circumstances.

We are ready for a great first day and an even better school year. Thank you, McLean ISD families, for your continued support. We can't wait to welcome our Cubs and Tigers tomorrow morning!
