CANI — Constant And Never-Ending Improvement

That was the theme of the 2026 WKSA Continuing Education Program.

As K*k Sool Won™ Masters, School Owners, and Black Belt Instructors, it’s our responsibility to honor the legacy of our art and commit ourselves to continual growth through the study and practice of martial arts.

This year I had the honor of presenting on running a successful martial arts center. It’s a responsibility I didn’t take lightly.

While we may not be the most successful school in the association, we are an up-and-coming school built on passion, perseverance, and a willingness to try new ideas. I simply shared our story — the trials, the lessons learned, what worked, what didn’t, and how my sales background helped us discover our own secret sauce.

CEP weekend was packed with incredible training including spear & sword sparring, archery, sword cutting, knife throwing, combat techniques, and knife defense.

We also explored the cultural side of traditional martial arts, learning Korean drumming and studying Hangul — the Korean alphabet — through reading and writing lessons. Traditional martial arts are not just about physical training, but also understanding the culture behind the art.

Grateful to be surrounded by so many masters and instructors willing to share their knowledge and experience.

Thank you to K*k Sa Nim, Chong Jae Nim, SKJN Harmon, and all of the CEP instructors and breakout session facilitators.

A special thank you to JDKJN Phil Sage, our newly appointed Dean of K*k Sool Won University.

Challenge accepted.

Commit to excellence.
Commit to constant and never-ending improvement.

We need more practice. 🥋🔥

2nd Annual WKSA Seminar 🔥

On Sunday, March 1st, we hosted our 2nd Annual WKSA Seminar — and what a day it was!

We had the honor of training under
Chong Jae Nim Alex Suh
and Sabum Nim Erik Suh.

The energy was high.
The focus was sharp.
And our students rose to the challenge.

We were also honored to welcome Hwe Jahng Nim as our special guest — and celebrate his birthday together with some well-earned cake. 🎂🥋

A big thank you to:

Sabum Nim Wendy Herrmann & the team from K*k Sool Won of McKinney

Sabum Nim Andrew King & the team from K*k Sool Won of Murphy

And Kyo Sa Nim Nick Harlan from K*k Sool Won of Tomball for supporting both our testing and seminar.

Double Dahn B**g.
Sword basics.
Sword sparring.
Tournament sparring.

Growth happened.

Grateful for a community that continues to train hard and build a better world through martial arts. 🥋💪

Dahn Bo Nim Testing 🥋

Congratulations to our newest Dahn Bo Nims at K*k Sool Won of Prosper:

Griffin, Maddie, Zeke, Brian, Janette, Mateo, & Santi

After years of consistent training, discipline, and perseverance, these students have earned their eligibility to begin Black Belt testing.

Dahn Bo Nim is more than a belt — it marks the transition from student to leader.

This milestone represents commitment, growth, and the decision to keep pushing forward. But this is only the beginning.

A black belt is not something you wear around your waist —
it’s a mindset.
A way of life.
A commitment to perseverance and personal development.

The next two years will challenge you physically, mentally, and spiritually.

Stay hungry.
Keep learning.
Keep refining.
Keep discovering what you’re capable of.

With one mind focused… nothing is impossible.

We’re proud of you. Now let’s get back to work. 👊🔥
