Today, we celebrated someone who brings so much LIGHT to our CTE family.

Our CTE Counselor, Mrs. Terri Liguez-Garza, has a way of making every day a little brighter with her smile, her laughter, and the joy she brings wherever she goes.

Her birthday is this Saturday, but we couldn’t let the week end without celebrating HER with the people who get to work alongside her every day.

Mrs. Terri, thank you for being a constant source of encouragement, joy, and positivity in our department. We are so grateful for the light you bring to CTE!

🚨 BEHIND THE BADGE | McHi CTE Law Enforcement

Who investigates the investigators? 👀

Our McHi CTE Law Enforcement students got an inside look at a side of law enforcement most people rarely see during a special visit from Inspector Joel Robles with the Office of Inspector General.

Inspector Robles shared what it’s like to conduct investigations involving law enforcement officers, the importance of accountability and integrity in the profession, and how AI is becoming part of today’s investigative world.

Real careers. Real-world insight. Right here at McHi CTE. 💜💛

A big thank you to Inspector Robles for giving our students a look into another path their future in law enforcement can take!

WHERE ARE THEY NOW? | McHi CTE Alumni Spotlight

From McHi CTE students to McAllen ISD employees!

We are proud to catch up with Class of 2026 graduates Brianna Orozco, Natalie Aldape, and Meredith Martinez, former students in our McHi CTE Education & Training Program with Mrs. Laurie Rodriguez.

While at McHi, these future educators earned their Educational Aide I Certification, and we are celebrating their signing as members of the 2nd cohort of McAllen ISD’s Teacher Apprenticeship Program on Sept 4th!

Brianna is serving at Castañeda Elementary, Natalie at Garza Elementary, and Meredith at Travis Middle School as they begin building their careers in education.

Just last year they were learning in our classrooms. Now, they’re working in classrooms across McAllen ISD and helping serve the next generation of students. That’s CTE in action!

Your McHi CTE family is so proud of you, ladies, and we can’t wait to see where this journey takes you!
