Hope to see you all at our reunion on September 18th.....

Classmates, on Thursday Janet, Karen and I met to outline plans for our 50th Class Reunion. It's been confirmed that Maynard will have Pioneer Days this year. The parade and festivities will be held on Saturday, September 18th. We plan to have our 50th Class reunion at Pioneer Park on this day.

We have spoken for the screened in pavilion at the park and plan to have a catered BBQ lunch at 1 PM. Please RSVP as soon as possible so we can have a count for lunch. You can private message back to this page or contact either, Janet, Karen or myself.

We would like to have as many classmates as are willing to ride a float in the parade. Those who want to do this, can park at the park and ride the trailer to the parade staging area at Northside Church. In your RSVP, please indicate your willingness to ride as well.

Looking forward to seeing everyone and enjoying a time of renewing life long friendships and remembering those no longer with us.

Please share this notice as widely as possibly with any classmates you may have contact with in order to get the word out.

Hoping for a great turnout....

50 years ago today Lonnie Joe Crismon was killed in action in Vietnam. Lonnie Joe was a graduate of Maynard High School.

I have been granted time on the agenda to address the Maynard School Board at their April 10th meeting. I intend to request that they name one of the new school buildings in Lonnie Joe's honor...... If any of you would like to attend to show support for this idea, I would welcome that. The school board meets at 6 P.M. April 10th in the Conference Room of the new High School building. Lonnie Joe is an example of a REAL hero who paid the ultimate cost while serving our country in uniform. A hero worthy of being honored in a tangible way 50 years after his sacrifice.... A a lesson to coming generations who pass through the halls of Maynard schools that our liberty and freedoms aren't free.......
